Primary Hijacked from Clinton

A couple of decades ago, David Dinkins, a soft spoken,  black intellectual ran for Mayor of NYC.

His campaign had a few similarities to Obama's.

The spin went that Dinkins was such an outstanding candidate, that he would only not be elected for one reason: because white NYC was racist.

Everyone felt honor bound to give NYC its first black Mayor.

Even people who weren't that excited about Dinkins went along.

To cut to the chase, Dinkins won the election.  It turned out he was terrible. In fact, he was the worst Mayor of NYC that anyone could remember.

Early-on the democratic blogs were hijacked by Obama operatives.  Clinton supporters were either harassed off, kicked off, or threatened with being "outed" if they did not leave.

I know one blog host who did not comply.  He has been threatened that "he would never again be accepted by the progressive community" if he stayed with Clinton.

The competition was silenced, the blogs became one solid smear job on Hillary Clinton.  Influencing young people, and giving the media the illusion that there was a solid front for Obama.

Without a doubt this kind of thing is going on with delegates.  And super delegates. They are falling like European countries to Hitler.

The race card is played and working.  Winning means nothing now.  Because the states Hillary wins are "racist." All of West Virginia is racist.  All of Kentucky is racist.  Any state, talk show host, news show or blog is racist if they do not fall into line and say that Obama is the nominee.

Our most progressive economist points out that Obama's health proposal is right wing, and cannot possibly pass.  His economic proposal is far to the right of Hillary Clinton's.

Obama just told Kentucky that he supports "clean" coal, even though environmentalists are dead against it - because clean coal is filthy.

These small details don't resonate with the news or progressive press, who are telling us Obama won.  Even though Hillary Clinton won 2 out of the last 3 elections, and is heading for 2 more victories.

A Saturday Night Live skit of Clinton is being played over and over - they way they aired Howard Dean's yell in '04.

The media is telling us who our candidate is.
What delegate will dare sacrifice his or her career bucking the media steamroller of Matthew's mouth, Russert's fake gravitas, Campbell Brown's shrill chirp.  Doing that would most certainly bring on the accusation of being "racist."

My main worry is will the intimidation stop?  Or would it continue into a presidency?

At any rate, in the unlikely event that Obama does win the GE, let's hope he is a little better president than David Dinkins was Mayor.

At this point, like Bill says, it's a toss of the dice.

The sad thing for me is that I was originally for Obama. The strong-arming
was a turn-off, and I started researching both candidates and decided on Clinton.
What I'm saying is that Obama did not have to resort to Chicago
gangland tactics. He could have easily won the primary by actually being the nice
guy he only pretends to be.

I tend to do the same thing. With this person, I don't know for sure, I could be completely wrong. I've just always pictured the diarist as a female, in part because I'm not sure s/he realizes s/he's a troll. And to be honest, I generally think of the hysterical Hillary supporters as female. Maybe that sounds sexist, but I'm a woman myself, and in my experience, the online Hillary worshippers are often female.

I love the pics guys!!! (1.25 / 4)

You know the "infamous" Clinton machine must've been missing quite a few screws, nuts, bolts, switches, bits...because her campaign was the epitome of a "broke down " performance. She has no one to blame but herself and her decisions.
She needs to start taking personal responsibility for her own failures, and for totally underestimating her opponent... and most importantly, her opponent's supporters.

Quite frankly, Hillary didn't do her homework..that's why she's being sent home.

This is a quite interesting conspiracy theory. Why don't you have a chat with my mom, who used to be a Clinton supporter and has never read a blog. She is very independent minded, a 70+ white woman voter in EVERY election. And she gave up on Hillary 5 or more years ago. Long before she'd ever heard of the candidate she supports now, Barack Obama.

Re: Primary Hijacked from Clinton (2.00 / 1)

You gotta use HTML tags (I have no idea why, this is one of the only blogs I've seen that still uses them) - use the HTML code to the right on your Photobucket page.

Voila!

Re: Primary Hijacked from Clinton (2.00 / 1)

I almost hate to help, since it's not a nice image from the perspective of a Hillary supporter, but you need to be on Auto or HTML Format and use this tag:

<img src=LINK>

Just replace the word "link" with the actual link to the image. This site uses classic html for most things.

Great diary, just one nit of constructive criticism:

Change the title to "Brain Hijacked from Internetstar".

It will make a whole lot more sense that way.

"logic melts the internetstar" for use on this poster's diaries.  It fits as they are illogical and I am punning on "video killed the radio star"

RECC'ED (1.28 / 7)

absolutely, testify, this primary has all been about "finally, the world can say 'America got over race'," and "its time to pay the blacks for oppression," and this PC affirmative action culture in which today's youth is brought up thruout schools and colleges, with their "diversity fairs" and "black history month" and quota systems is handing this nomination to Obama. The reason the youth, except me, love Obama is precisely because they now have some validation for all the PC stuff they heard about in school. The people who peddle it to them are those on Daily Kos and Huffington Post. All of these people, are either too young, or haven't read up on their political history to remember George McGovern, Walter Mondale, and even Harvey Gantt. McCain-Obama could look like that, and a loss is a loss, and American cannot afford one.

Re: You're right (2.00 / 1)

except she's still winning in the electoral college right now according to electoral-vote.com , she does better in the battleground states, does better with whites, who make up 77 percent of our electorate, and whose husband won twice, and before you shovel your Ross Perot horseshit, I'd remind you of the exit polls that night which showed the pro-choice pro-gays-in-uniform anti-NAFTA(which Bush I and Dole supported too) candidate taking equally if not more from Clinton than Bush and the same for Clinton's 1996 landslide(yes a pop. vote plurality can be considered a landslide, see most multi-party democracies, eg UK 1979, 1997, 2001, 1945, Canada 1949, 1993, South Korea 2007, etc.) SO yes, I'd trust Hillary to beat McCain.

Who is more like Dukakis, and I would say the candidate who scorned a flag pin, like Dukakis with the pledge of allegiance, the candidate with a guy like Wright around his neck, similar to Willie Horton with Dukakis, Obama, who like Dukakis, is soft on crime, and I could go on. Obama is the most Dukakis like candidate we have seen in years.

Re: oh sure (2.00 / 1)

The woman who went to Wellsley is more like Dukakis, and if you had any fucking intellectual honesty you'd see that.

She's playing you, and playing the rest of her supporters.  She is not "blue collar" and never was.

She and her husband are masters at triangulation - they'll take any position they have to in order to win.

Just wait.  She'll come out in favor of a ban on flag burning before this thing is through.

Re: You're right (none / 0)

SO was John Kerry.  He was leading the EC in May.  But the EC in MAY doesn't mean shit.  And for the record, MyDD's EV board is not that accurate.  It changes as new polls come out and doesn't use averages.  And I've also noticed some poll Cherry picking by whomever is running the board.  Its inaccurate and really has no place on here.
