Never ending battle

The admiration I have for Hillary is mixed between her gutsy and never ending challenges and her inability to see the end when it's hitting her in the face.  Her decidedly dogged approach to this election, albeit worthy of the Rocky award has been marred by her incapacity to read the proverbial tea leaves that scream defeat.

I can't imagine her staying with the hope of winning when the odds are staked against her in such a profound way that in every instance of the election she is behind and losing ground.  The rumors may be true, she has something, or she knows something that will flatten the Obama bubble in one fell swoop.  It's gotta be big and strong enough to overcome the "black" vote, who incidentally are voting on a racist platform that is just as bigoted as any group voting for that group just because they are of that group.

Do you think the Reverend Wright issue was bad?  Obama blinked a few times but that was it.  How about the other guy, the home grown terrorist, the one who would have liked to use more bombs?  Obama didn't even sweat that one.  And how about the criminal element, you know the guy who hired him for legal fees?  I've forgotten his name too.

Whatever Hillary has, or she hopes she has, must be better then what's been used to derail Obama because its seems to me that if the above had no effect then its quite possible that nothing will make a difference, especially to those who will vote for him no matter what.  Does OJ ring a bell?

Poor Hillary, she can speak and rally, travel and advertise, raise millions, well in her case hundreds, and all she will get out of all that effort is a pat on the back for trying sooo hard.  Forget the fact that she is more qualified, less a risk, and less controversial, and oh lets not forget more able to rally the mainstream of America away from McCain.

Obama may get the black vote now but when the general election comes and mainstream America has to choose the racist, bigoted, homophobic, Anglo Saxon republicans and closet democrats (who have done nothing to really help the African American population), will rise to the occasion and expose the political "impostor" and force him back to the proverbial plantation.

The only chance the Democrats have for real reform and the only chance the African Americans have for real reform is for Hillary to pull the rabbit out of her brightly colored hat.

Well, she's "less of a risk", and "less controversial" isn't she? I dunno, I don't think he's that scary but apparently you do.

Re: Never ending battle (none / 0)

Not scary, not at all.  I just think that the reason Hillary  is staying in the race is because she knows something....something she is waiting to spring on Obama...

Re: Never ending battle (none / 0)

If she had something she'd use it. She would have used it before North Carolina and Indiana. What incentive would there be to keep it hidden at this point? I certainly think she hopes there is something out there that derails him but there is no reason to believe she has any such thing.

Re: Never ending battle (2.00 / 1)

Politics as a "faith based initiative."  Brilliant!

If Senator Clinton, who has shown literally zero reluctance to say or do anything, hasn't hit him with it yet, she doesn't have it.

She absolutely would NOT have allowed herself to lose as she has, if she'd had any alternative.

Re: Never ending battle (2.00 / 1)

As long as she keeps winning and her supporters keep donating and voting why should she leave?

Re: Never ending battle (none / 0)

She is still over 10 million in debt and it's very unlikely that she will be able to raise that much before the end of the primaries.

Re: Never ending battle (none / 0)

Maybe, maybe not. As long as she's bringing in as much as she's paying out and her debt isn't increasing that still isn't a reason to bow out. It's not like people donate to candidates that are no longer campaigning. The remaining contests are in very cheap markets.

There is really no incentive for her to quit. First I think she feels she owes it to future female candidates to stick it out to the very end, even if she's not the nominee, and she still holds out some hope for something to knock Obama out of the running. But as long as she doesn't attack Obama and is not using rhetoric that further hardens her supporters against him I see no reason for her to quit.

Re: Never ending battle (none / 0)

money doesn't mean anything to her. it's about winning and being the first woman president in history. she'll keep going.

Re: Never ending battle (none / 0)

Well, if you haven't realized, we're having a rerun of the 1976 election.  Barack O'Carter vs John McFord.

Oh, the real winner of the 1976 election was that guy who came in third, was supposed to drop out but took it to his Party's convention.  Lost on the first ballot, just as he was supposed to, though he claimed he might win.  Win he did- the 1980 and 1984 elections.
